With sunset drawing closer, we bundled into cars and headed down to the beach—just five minutes from my Margate studio. Mama and baby had a quick outfit change, and honestly, the soft blue set she chose was divine. It was the perfect summer tone to complement the golden warmth of Botany Bay’s cliffs and sand. This is where thoughtful styling becomes so important. What’s not to love? Ox-eye daisies and newborns, buttercups and baby toes, golden hour settling over a fairytale scene as you soak in those early days with your baby—whether they’re brand new or already growing fast. This hidden gem in Canterbury, Kent, is peaceful and almost impossibly magical, like a scene from a storybook. As a Kent Newborn and Family Photographer, it’s one of my favourite locations through spring, summer, and autumn. With its ever-changing wildflowers, long swishy grasses, cows grazing in the distance, and the most dreamy evening light, it’s a perfect backdrop for capturing natural but also elevated family heirloom photographs.

It’s also taking a moment to connect with this baby you’re lovingly anticipating. The whirlwind of first time parenting whilst your family rapidly grows. For this Canterbury based family we chose Botany Bay, Margate, Kent as the ideal location to keep their sweet girl busy and engaged in nature whilst we documented their connection.

What do you think of when summer comes to mind? I think of strawberry juice running down my childrens chins whilst they gleefully pick fruit in an orchard in Kent. I think of fields of wildflowers and bare toddler legs in bloomers, newly forming ringlets bouncing from under sunhats and the smell of suncream from earlier in the day. Golden sunsets over the most picturesque secluded outdoor spots in Canterbury. For this family this shoot evokes the nostalgia of just before they grew from an all girl-family to having their first son join them. Together we roamed the daisy fields in Canterbury, Kent, as the sun dwindled behind the trees and made the soft summer grasses glow.

Greenwich Park is iconic. This ancient space conjures up images of sweeping landscapes, iconic views of the London skyline, and paths that wind through lush greenery. It’s where nature, history, the cobbled streets of the town, and family moments intertwine beautifully.
