Gemma & Sam: A Chic and Effortlessly Cool London Wedding at The Old Marylebone Town Hall and The Singer Tavern
As we approach their one-year anniversary, I couldn’t resist sharing a closer look at this iconic and utterly joyful London wedding. Gemma and Sam, childhood sweethearts with the kind of deep connection that just glows, planned a day that felt completely them—modern, stylish, and full of heart. From their heartfelt ceremony at The Old Marylebone Town Hall to the relaxed celebration at The Singer Tavern, every detail was thoughtfully chosen and effortlessly cool.
Set against the backdrop of the city, this was a London wedding full of colour, music, and emotion. A bold palette of pink and red set the tone—playful yet chic, with a nod to classic romance but reimagined for the modern couple. The entire day was a joy to photograph, and as a London wedding photographer, days like this are a dream.
Bridal Morning at The Ned
The day began at The Ned, where Gemma got ready with her bridesmaids. The huge beds were the perfect spot for everyone to gather, creating space for laughter, last-minute lipstick touch-ups, and that emotional dress reveal with her parents. Nobody but her maid of honour had seen the dress, and the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as details unfolded—flowers arriving, final adjustments made, music playing softly in the background. It was intimate, warm, and full of meaning.
We took a few quiet moments to capture portraits of Gemma before she left for the ceremony. That soft morning light, her calm presence, and the quiet before the celebration made it all feel timeless.
Gemma is truly a vision.
Before the dress reveal, I captured a quiet moment of Gemma’s stunning gown hanging in the elegant bathroom at The Ned. The classic black and white tiled flooring provided the perfect timeless backdrop, while soft natural light gently illuminated the scene. The dress, a breathtaking creation by Hera Couture, purchased from Halo & Wren Bridal Shop, hung gracefully, full of promise and poised to become the star of this chic London wedding. This bridal moment—so still and intimate—was the perfect pause before the day’s joyful celebrations truly began.
The Ceremony at The Old Marylebone Town Hall
Gemma and Sam chose the Westminster Room at The Old Marylebone Town Hall for their ceremony. This iconic London wedding venue, with its rich wood panelling and elegant atmosphere, was the perfect setting for something simple yet meaningful. Friends and family filled the room, the kind of crowd that makes you feel instantly at ease. As Gemma walked in, glowing with nerves and excitement, the room shifted. It was emotional, honest, and full of love.
The iconic marble staircases of Old Marylebone Town Hall, Gemma sent me a really useful inspiration board and shot list of what she hoped to document on the day including this shot on the stairs.
The steps outside were already covered in confetti from prior ceremonies only aiding to the colourful energy of Sam&Gemmas exit

Reception at The Singer Tavern
From there, the party moved to The Singer Tavern, a cool East London wedding venue with buckets of character. The space was styled beautifully with deconstructed pink and red roses, their petals spilling softly against the deep green tiles of the walls—a bold and romantic contrast. It felt artful without trying too hard, modern without losing warmth.
In the centre of the room stood a minimalist white cake topped with red cherries, striking in its simplicity. It was a moment of still beauty in a day full of movement and colour—and yes, it tasted just as good as it looked.
A London Wedding to Remember
Gemma and Sam’s day was everything a modern city wedding should be—stylish but relaxed, full of soul, and completely personal. From the fashion choices to the music, the florals to the food, every detail was layered with meaning and a little bit of magic.
As a photographer, it’s a joy to capture weddings that feel as authentic as this. If you’re planning a London wedding and looking for something that balances timeless beauty with a modern edge, venues like The Old Marylebone Town Hall and The Singer Tavern are the perfect combination.
